Emma Stone portrays 'experiment' Bella Baxter in Poor Things trailer

portrayed in a new trailer released on Thursday for the upcoming surrealist comedy Poor Things.
The 34-year-old actress was shown in black-and-white at the start of the trailer walking awkwardly with a duck inside a house.
‘This is Bella,’ said heavily scarred Dr.
Godwin Baxter, played by Willem Dafoe, 67.
‘Bella, this is Mr. McCandless,’ Dr. Baxter said as he introduced her to Max McCandless, portrayed by Ramy Youssef, 32.

Bella instead of shaking his hand, punched Max in the face with a sly smile.
‘She’s an experiment.
Her brain and her body are not quite synchronized, but she’s progressing at an accelerated pace,’ Dr. Baxter said in a voice-over.
Dr. Baxter was asked where Bella came from and he answered, ‘Myself’.
Bella was shown on a dreamy ocean liner and later becoming the center of attention.
‘I am Bella Baxter and there is a world to enjoy, circumnavigate.
It is the goal of all to progress, grow,’ Bella declared.
Bella in another seen kissed Duncan Wedderburn, played by Mark Ruffalo, 55.
Duncan at the end of the trailer got slapped in the face by Bella.
‘Owww,’ Duncan said.

Poor Things is based on the 1992 novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray.
The cast also includes Jerrod Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley and Kathryn Hunter.
The R-rated film was directed by Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, 49, and is expected to receive a world premiere in August at the 80th Venice Film Festival.
Emma is a co-producer of Poor Things along with Yorgos.
Yorgos and Emma have collaborated on three projects, including the 2022 short film Bleat and the upcoming anthology film And that also will feature Willem, Margaret and Jesse Plemons.
Poor Things is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 8 by Searchlight Pictures.
